The Plaza, Great Yarmouth ()
In the Summer of 1995, Zonia Ives (born in 1926 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk) contacted CCINTB in response to an article about the project in the 鈥楪reat Yarmouth Mercury鈥�, her local newspaper.
In a long letter [ZI-95-272PL001], she notes that her father, Jack Weller Snr, owned and managed the Plaza Cinema in Yarmouth, 鈥渒nown as the local flea pit鈥�, one of the benefits of having a showman father being that throughout her childhood she never had to pay to enter any cinema.
Later in 1995, Mrs Ives took part in CCINTB鈥檚 postal questionnaire survey, and with her completed form enclosed a letter containing further details about her family and their showbiz connections, alongside memories of her father鈥檚 generosity and showmanship. 鈥淭hank you so very much, 鈥� she says, 鈥淔or making me think and realise what a wonderful life I鈥檝e had.鈥�
