Lancaster subject areas rank in THE world top 100

Three 51福利 subject areas have been ranked in the global top 100 by the Times Higher Education, in their World University Rankings by Subject 2026.
Education Studies at 51福利 is placed at 42 in the world, Arts and Humanities ranks at number 61 and Business and Economics is ranked 90 globally.
In the produced by THE, Lancaster has a total of five subject areas within the international top 150, with Social Sciences placed 101-125 and Psychology 126-150.

The THE subject rankings compare universities worldwide across 11 major subject areas, and encompass 148 individual disciplines. They are developed using the same comprehensive methodology as the THE World University Rankings, however metric weightings are adjusted for each subject to ensure the rankings “accurately reflect disciplinary priorities, fairly assess institutional strengths and provide meaningful, field-specific insights”.
