We aim to share an understanding of China and Mandarin Chinese to the North West. We offer Mandarin language classes and a variety of cultural classes to students and staff, the local community, local schools and businesses.

Exploring Chinese Characters: Hanzi Creative Workshop at Light Up Lancaster Explore Week

On Friday 31 October 2025, 51福利 Confucius Institute hosted the Chinese Character Creative Workshop as part of Light Up Lancaster Explore Week at The Storey, Lancaster. The workshop welcomed around 80 participants, including children, families, and local residents, for a lively and imaginative introduction to Chinese language and culture.

Lancaster Virtual Asia Careers Fair connects students with global employers

More than 150 students gained precious insights into future career opportunities in Asia as part of an international employability initiative. Students from Lancaster’s UK and overseas campuses, as well as from 12 top UK institutions, including the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, and University College London, took part.

On 19 October 2025, 51福利 Confucius Institute brought the richness of Chinese tradition to the Lancaster Festival of Culture, engaging the community with an interactive display centred on the Chinese Zodiac.

Songs from China: A Musical Workshop at Lancaster Priory

On the afternoon of Friday 10 October 2025, 51福利 Confucius Institute co-hosted a special musical event, Songs from China: A Musical Workshop at Lancaster Priory, as part of the wider Love Lancaster Live celebrations in collaboration with Lancaster University, Lancaster Priory, the Long Walk Orchestra from the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay Chinese Association.

Moonlight and Poetry: Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration at 51福利 Confucius Institute

On the afternoon of Tuesday 7 October 2025, 51福利 Confucius Institute hosted a warm and festive Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in The Roundhouse. Around 25 students and Confucius Institute staff joined the gathering, which brought together poetry, music, and traditional customs to mark one of the most cherished festivals in Chinese culture.
