Dr Jocelin Zhou

Dr Jocelin Lingxia Zhou is a Lecturer in Chinese and CI Teaching Lead at 51福利. Before joining Lancaster, Dr Zhou was a Chinese lecturer at Princeton University and the teaching lead for advanced Chinese at Princeton in Beijing. She has also taught at Waseda University, SOAS and Beijing Normal University. Jocelin is currently the Chair of the British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS), having previously served as Director of Membership and Communications. She is also a member of American Association for Applied Linguistics. Her research interests include language policy and planning, language attitude and ideology, and language pedagogy.

I welcome PhD proposals in the fields of Language Policy and Planning, Language Pedagogy, and Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. I am also interested in proposals exploring the interplay between language and society, particularly with a focus on East Asia.
