Dr Hannah Stewart

Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology

Research Overview

I am a paediatric auditory neuroscientist. I am interested in the effect of everyday auditory technology (e.g. hearing aids, remote microphones) on language, cognition, academic ability and cortical acclimatisation in children with normal hearing and hearing impairment. My Paediatric Listening, Cognition and Neuroscience (PELiCAN) Lab uses neuroimaging techniques, fNIRS, EEG and MRI, to understand the underlying mechanisms of speech and non-speech listening skills in hearing impairment and developmental disorders. My lab specialises in nautralistic research methods and in PPI, including co-production/co-design with children.

I will be open to PhD projects again starting in the academic year 26/27.
