Our Colleges

Lancaster is proud to be one of only a handful of UK universities to have a collegiate system. We have nine colleges in total, and every student belongs to a college, whether you live on campus or choose to commute.

The colleges are individual, inclusive and diverse communities, offering a range of facilities and services. Your college is where your first friendships are formed - your university family. Please speak to any Lancaster graduate - they likely ask which college you belong to before asking what you're studying.

Your college is the first place to go for any support. There are staff on duty around the clock, ready to help, whether it's a friendly word of advice or something more pressing.

You start with your college on day one, and you graduate with your college when you finish. No matter how far you go from Lancaster, you'll always belong to your college.

College facilities

All colleges have Wi-Fi-enabled study spaces, games facilities, social spaces and a 24-hour porter's service. Some colleges offer facilities for off-campus students, such as kitchens and lockers, while others have music rooms or music practice facilities.

All students pay a small membership fee which supports running college events and activities.
