My research also supports collaborative research across the areas of time series and environmental data science. It also contributes to supervising PhD projects, including developing functional data analysis methods to detect spatial variation in biological tissue, where the tissue's complex geometry presents unique statistical challenges.
Advances in sensing technologies are generating increasingly large and complex datasets that cannot always be analysed using traditional statistical methods. Modern data often contain important spatial, temporal, and geometric information alongside numerical measurements. Therefore, my research aims to provide practitioners with new statistical tools for modelling these large, complex datasets.”
